Concept details and interpretive insights (click on triangle to read)

- The game jam's theme was initially interpreted as a matter of empathy toward “the other one,” with a focus on areas suffering from devastating conflict (in this case, Palestine), because this kind of tragedy “always happens to others, never to us.”

- Once the broader theme of the poem was established, its metaphorical translation into gameplay became immediately clear: you are ordered to leave the area, but each side of the playable area closes off as you approach it, so try the other side.

- With the perimeter now completely enclosed by the wire fences, all that remains is to return home. The fences continue to close in behind him/her, symbolizing the armed occupation of the grounds, but together they form a keffiyeh on the land, thereby symbolizing and celebrating resistance.

- When reaching the end message, the game poem restarts with the opening message ("New directive: vacate the area"), the wind blows through the grass, but the game is no longer playable. It is intentional to symbolize eternal triumph of resistance. To replay the full experience, please refresh the page.

- All the colors used are from the Palestinian flag.
